David GOMEZ is a painter and draftsman admiring the great masters of painting and sculpture of different ages, from universal art until the nineteenth century, especially the different movements and schools that emerged from baroque to impressionism . But its strongest influence is nature itself.
He spends a lot of time observing and studying light effects that occur at different times of the day, under different climatic conditions, so he thinks about how to represent these phenomena faithfully on paper or canvas, trying to understand Textures, color, sense of movement and distance; Elements that are essential if it wants to create an impression of realism. Therefore, one can say that his inspiration comes mainly from his admiration for the natural world, a world full of amazing elements.
Recently,he focuses on portrait, a complex discipline, since it involves the creation of a convincing image without falling into the error of making a lifeless copy. The goal is to grasp the essence of a person, to collect his joy, kindness or sadness without neglecting other questions such as landscape, fauna or illustration.
"My creation process is mainly based on meticulous and detailed observation, I also use photography and digital media to develop compositions that facilitate observation according to the objective I seek. Paper for a final transfer which could be paper or canvas according to the technique required by the customer.
I can work different techniques: pastels, watercolor, ink, acrylic, airbrush ... however, my favorites are: drawing with pen and painting. I choose these methods because they are the most expressive and represent a real challenge to my skills that ultimately results in personal and professional satisfaction as I am completely self-taught. "
